Artist Statement

IIn a world consumed by screens and routines, I seek to reignite a sense of wonder for the overlooked beauty that surrounds us. My work explores the delicate balance between chaos and order, intention and entropy, inviting viewers to rediscover the extraordinary in the mundane.

Using acrylics on wood panels and Posca paint markers, I employ a stippling technique that embodies this philosophy. Each dot is a deliberate act in a broader balance of light and dark, yet every mark is placed with an element of spontaneity. This method creates a dynamic tension, reflecting the organized chaos that I see in nature and my own creative process.

My subjects are drawn from everyday scenes – a tree in a parking lot, a particular arrangement of clouds, or the interplay of light across a landscape. By isolating these moments and reimagining them through my artistic lens, I strive to reveal their inherent beauty and complexity. The changing qualities of light throughout the day and seasons play a crucial role in my work, shaping both individual pieces and the evolution of my entire collection.

My background in User Experience Design influences my artistic practice, encouraging me to consider the viewer’s engagement with each piece. I aim to create works that not only captivate visually but also prompt reflection and a renewed appreciation for one’s surroundings.

Drawing inspiration from artists such as Georges Seurat, Paul Klee, and Joan Miró, I blend the precision of pointillism and the fluidity of abstraction in my work. My creative process is rooted in deep visual research, sketching, and photography, allowing me to distill complex scenes into their purest forms and colors.

Ultimately, my art serves as an invitation – to pause, to look closer, and to uncover beauty in unexpected places. It is my hope that viewers will carry this renewed sense of wonder beyond the gallery, allowing it to enrich their daily experiences and perceptions of the world around them.
